It's and it's time to ride!

Fancy Mountain Biking! See attached video clip.
North Wales is really a great place for Mountain bikers. T
here seems to be new trails springing up everywhere and the growing interest in the sport is on the increase again.
It's all about endurance, fitness and machine control all combined to make a top Cross-Country rider.
You compete on a marked lap (typically one to three miles) with climbing, descending, single-track and technical sections (tight turns or difficult terrain). Less experienced riders tackle fewer laps. Elite level riders race for up to 2 and a half hours and an even longer
Cross-Country bikes are ultra-lightweight with front and sometimes rear suspension. Cross-Country mountain biking became an Olympic sport in 1996. Marathon racing is new on the British calendar in 2005. Limitation on countryside access mean, that the lap distance may not follow UCI regulations precisely, although a truly marathon distance will be sought. See Calendar of BC events for more information.
The new trails at Coed Llandegla Forest are now open and deserve a mention. This is a great NEW XC MTB centre and has already been home to the Welsh Nation
al XC Championships. There are several trails open, the red trail (intermediate) with a 1km black route optional for experienced riders only, blue trail (family ) and green trail (novice)
The centre is fantastic with indoor cafe and bike shop. Visit their website above, it'l show you how to get there and give you a preview of the tracks!
We also have the Clocaenog Forest where we have a regular Sunday ride utilising single track and forestry track and sometimes taking in the lakes Brenig and Alwen. There's so many trails out there just waiting to be ridden!
