Brenig Road Race 2012

"The Brenig" has been a regular event in the Rhos-on-Sea CC calendar for the past 23 years, gaining in stature and reputation through its excellent levels of organisation.
Leaving Race HQ, Denbigh Football Club, the race traditionally starts neutralised rolling through the town of Denbigh, before the race begins it's climb up towards Llyn Brenig and Cerrigydrudion. Before descending back towards Denbigh into and through the historic market town of Ruthin and the relative flat of the Clwyd valley, before 3 laps of a 9 mile road circuit to complete the 62mile/100km race. The race field usually comprises of between 60 to 80 riders, including juniors, ladies, veterans and seniors. There are prizes for each category: Cat 2, Cat 3 and Cat 4. Competitors are drawn widely from various parts of the UK and there is usually a strong local entry field.

The race will be accompanied by the National Escort Group (NEG) motorcycle outriders, as well as a lead car, official/commissaire cars, race radio, First Aid car and broom wagon.
